NOTE: This is the second event setup for Gift cards. Refer to How do I make gift cards available to purchase for an event? for the first step.


You can authorize the use of gift cards for purchases for any event. 

  1. In the Event Settings tab of your event page, go to the Financial Information section and set Accepting Gift Card to YES.

     

  2. Be sure to click Save or Save & Next to save the changes.




3. On the Event Setup tab, you must activate the gift cards for use with this event. 


4. On the Gift Cards tab, you will see a list of all the gift cards you have made available for sale. 


5. Check the box under Accept Gift Cards? to indicate that the gift card can be used for this particular event.


6. Unlike coupons, gift cards accepted gift cards will be good for purchase of any ticket level, they are not ticket level specific.


7. Click Next to go to the next uncompleted step or to the Preview & Publish tab.



8. A new field will show on your event page where the purchaser can enter their gift card number under the Gift Card field. 



9. When a valid gift card number is entered and clicked on Apply, the amount available on the gift card will be applied to the Amount Due.


10. A message will also appear under the Gift Card field indicating how much balance is remaining on the gift card.



11. When a gift card is used for a purchase, it will show as a Payment Type of “Gift Card.” 


12. The Amount Paid is also included in the total revenue shown for the event, so you may want to alert your finance and accounting team to that they can account for this accordingly.



13. The constituent's Payment Options tab will also be updated to reflect the Used Amount and Remaining Balance. The constituent could also see this information in the portal account.
