On an Email Template you can add a Text or Button link that will allow an Email Recipient to forward that email to another person’s email address. To add this link you will need to open your email template within the template editor. While editing your email template you can setup a Forward to a Friend link a number of ways.

  1. If it is a text link, you can highlight the desired text and click the Link button within your content box toolbar. Under the “Button Type” dropdown, you will want to select “Forward to a Friend”. Then, under the “Button List” dropdown you will select the name of this email campaign. This selection will automatically insert a link into the URL field, and you can click “OK".

  2. If you are using a button, select the button and under the Settings tab you will see a “Button Type” dropdown where you will select “Forward to a Friend”. Then, under the “Buttons” dropdown you will select the name of this email campaign. This selection will automatically insert a link into the URL field and your button is all set.

Once your email campaign has been distributed any recipients can use that link to forward a copy of that same email campaign to a new recipient. Clicking the link will launch a new tab in the recipients web browser. This page will ask for the Name and Email of the new recipient. After those details are entered and the “Confirm” button is pressed that new recipient will receive a copy of that same email campaign.

The new recipient will also be checked against the existing constituents within your account. If no matching constituent exists then a new record will be created for them and subscribed to the email list used in your campaign. If the constituent does already exist then their existing record will be subscribe to that email list.
