Overview

DonorView now integrates with the Stripe S700 Terminal, giving you the ability to process live credit card transactions directly from your laptop or desktop while logged into your DonorView account.

Each Stripe Terminal can be assigned to a specific user, allowing them to securely accept payments through any online Donation, Event, or Membership form. Donors and members can simply tap, insert the chip, or swipe their card to complete donations, event registrations, or membership enrollments with ease.

The Stripe Terminal also enhances the auction experience by streamlining checkout for items, add-ons, and paddle raises, making it easier than ever for bidders to pay with a card that is not already on file.

Terminal Assignments (In DonorView)

After receiving one or more Stripe S700 Terminals, each device must be connected to a user within your DonorView account. Please note that only DonorView users with Admin access can complete the Terminal assignments.

  1. Log in to your DonorView account as an Admin.
  2. Hover over your organization’s name in the upper-right corner of the screen.
  3. From the dropdown menu, hover over Account and click on Payment Terminals.
  4. The Payment Terminals page will display all terminals currently assigned to your account.
  5. Each terminal will appear in a row with a Pencil & Paper (edit) icon. Click this icon to edit the assignment for that terminal.
  6. Under the User dropdown, select the appropriate user from your account. A terminal can only be assigned to one user at a time.
  7. (Optional) Add any notes about the assignment.
  8. Click Update to save your changes.

Once assigned, the terminal can only be used when the assigned user is logged into their DonorView account on any computer.

Powering On and Connecting the Terminal to Wi-Fi

To power on the Terminal, locate the power button on the right side of the device. It is the single button at the top. Press and hold this button until the device turns on. The Terminal will take a few seconds to start up.

The Terminal does not connect directly to a computer. Instead, it communicates with both the user’s computer and the card processor over Wi-Fi. Because of this, the Terminal cannot operate without an active Wi-Fi connection. There is no “offline” mode.

If the Terminal does not automatically connect to a saved Wi-Fi network, the screen will prompt you to select one. Choose the desired network, enter the Wi-Fi password, and press Confirm. Once the password is accepted, the device will connect to the network and complete its startup process. The Terminal is ready for use once the Stripe logo appears against a colorful background.

Powering Off or Restarting

To turn off or restart the Terminal, press and hold the power button on the right side of the device. A menu will appear on the screen giving you the option to select Power Off or Restart. Tap your preferred option to proceed.
