There are two types of "pay later" options for a membership. Either option (or both) must be activated on the membership page's Settings tab.
- Option 1 - the member elects to pay with recurring payments. You activate this option by turning on "Allow Recurring Payments."
- Option 2 - the member elects to pay the entire amount of the membership at a later time. No payment made up front and the entire amount is shown as a balance due. You activate this option by turning on "Allow Purchaser to Pay Later."
Members with Recurring Payments
- Immediately following the transaction the member's Current Status may be blank on the Membership grid if they are new members. If they were previously Active or Inactive, the Current Status may be unchanged. The Current Status field only updates once per day, overnight, based on a number of factors including membership expiration date and payments due.
- The membership grid will show the Amount Paid for the initial payment, the Amount Due, and there will be a check mark in the Installments column.
- The member will show on the membership directory and be able to purchase event tickets at a member price immediately after purchase.
- The member will be included on the Membership Attendance grid.
- The next day, the member's Current Status will show as "Active."
Members with Entire Balance Due
- Immediately following the transaction, the member's Current Status may be blank on the Membership grid if they are new members. If they were previously Active or Inactive, the Current Status may be unchanged. The Current Status field only updates once per day, overnight, based on a number of factors including membership expiration date and payments due.
- The membership grid will show the Amount Paid as $0.00 with the Amount Due being the price of the membership.
- If the member has a current active membership that has not expired yet, they will continue to be able to enjoy their current membership benefits until the expiration date. After the expiration date, if they have not paid their membership balance due, the member will no longer be shown on the directory and will not be able to purchase discounted tickets.
- If the member is new, they will not be shown on the directory or able to purchase discounted or member's only event tickets until the balance is paid in full.
- The member will be shown on the Membership Attendance grid as long as they have an Current Expiration Date in the future, regardless of Current Status.
- The next day, the member's Current Status will show as "Pending."
