By default for a Membership to be counted as a "Renewal" under it's Status an existing Member Constituent needs to submit a new purchase of the same Membership Level as they purchased during their previous membership transaction. If this occurs then the most recent membership transaction will have a Status of “Renewal” and if there is any remaining time on their expiration it will be rolled over to this most recent membership transaction.

For example if they “renew” a month before the expiration date of their current membership then that remaining time will be added or rolled over onto the expiration date of their most recent membership transaction. Again this requires the purchase of the same Membership Level.

Original Silver Level Membership:

Purchased 1/1/2022 – Expires 12/31/2022

Renewal Silver Level Membership:

Purchased 12/1/2022 – Expires 1/30/2023

However you might consider the purchase of any Membership Level by an existing Member Constituent to be a “Renewal”. For example a Silver Member who is upgrading to a Gold Membership should be considered a Renewal. If that is the case there is a setting available under your Account Settings called, “Include All Membership Types for Renewals”. Turning this setting on will allow all membership purchases across all Membership Levels by an existing member to be marked as a “Renewal” and allow for the roll over of any remaining time on their expiration from their previous membership transaction.

Original Silver Level Membership:

Purchased 1/1/2022 – Expires 12/31/2022

Renewal Gold Level Membership:

Purchased 12/1/2022 – Expires 1/30/2023
